The Supermarine Spitfire is one of the classic fighter aircraft of all time. The instantly recognisable single seat fighter was used by the British RAF and Allied forces during WW2 and continued in use into the 1950s.
The Spitfire is still seen today in the skies above Britain as part of the Battle of Britain memorial flight.
